Seth Meyers is a dad!

The Late Night with Seth Meyers star and his wife Alexi welcomed their first child — son Ashe — on Sunday, March 27, his rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

“Thank you everyone for the kind words! Mom and baby are doing great!!!” the new dad tweeted Monday morning.

In a second tweet, Meyers jokes, “I can also confirm that when you have a baby in New York you pretty much just sing ‘The Schuyler Sisters‘ [from Broadway hit Hamilton] for the first 12 hours.”

While Seth, 42, and Alexi, 32, a human rights lawyer, have yet to reveal any additional details, the talk show host plans to share more, including the delivery story and Ashe’s middle name, during Tuesday’s Late Night.

The “looking around” and “lucky to be alive” parts. NOT Burr being all skeevy. He’ll need to be far older for that stuff.

And I recap how my wife was amazing in the delivery room and I was FINE.

Earlier this month, the dad-to-be talked about his excitement over his first child.

“I’m most looking forward to seeing who it looks like, that’s the first thing out of the gate,” he told PEOPLE of the baby, whose sex they kept a surprise. “Although … a lot of people have said my wife and I look alike, so I think that’s the one thing we know, is that the child will look like us. If not, there’s a real problem.”

One thing the couple did to prep for the baby? Ask for plenty of advice from seasoned parents.

“It’s a lot more fun talking to people who are on their third kid than people who are on their first kid,” he said. “First kid people have a checklist [of] a million things long, whereas on their third kid, they basically just tell you, ‘Look, [babies] are indestructible. You don’t have to worry about it. They’re gonna get bumps and bruises and it’ll be fine.’ So we’ve been trying to spend more time with people that have multiple children.”

The couple, whose pregnancy was revealed in November, were married in 2013 on Martha’s Vineyard.
