His Royal Cuteness: See the First Close-up Look at Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia’s Newborn Son

Move over Prince George, there’s another adorable royal baby that’s set to charm the world!

On Saturday, the Swedish Royal Palace released the first close-up photo of Prince Alexander, who was born on Tuesday, April 19, showing his face for the first time.

The portrait was taken on Thursday, the same day that the newborn prince’s family gathered for a service of thanksgiving at Stockholm’s Royal Chapel, following the announcement of Alexander’s names and title by King Carl XVI Gustaf.

The young prince’s father Prince Carl Philip took the photo himself at the Palace. (Perhaps he was taking a nod from Princess Kate, who often photographs her children.)

Carl Philip, Princess Sofia and their latest addition will surely be resting up in their new home – a small family house within the Palace grounds on the fashionable Stockholm island of Djurgarden.
