Josh Duggar has completed rehab, the Duggar family said in a statement on their family website.
The disgraced reality star checked into a faith-based rehab facility in Illinois this August after a series of scandals including admitting to being addiction to porn and cheating on his wife, Anna.
“Josh has completed his residential rehabilitation program. We are so thankful for everyone who worked with Josh in this program,” the Duggars said in a statement. “It was a crucial first step in recovery and healing for Josh. Josh has now returned to Arkansas, where he will continue professional counseling and focus on rebuilding relationships with his family. We look to God for help and guidance and place all of our trust in Him. We are forever grateful for the love and prayers offered by so many and hope you will continue to pray in the days ahead.”
Duggar’s wife Anna released a statement in January after she visited Josh in rehab.
“Please continue to pray for me, Josh and our children,” she said. Adding that 2015 was the most difficult year of her life.
Josh’s sister Jessa Seewald told People she has forgiven her brother who had molested her and three of their other sisters more than a decade ago. “I definitely have forgiven Josh. It is a process, though, that you have to work through in your heart. And trust is not quickly rebuilt. It is something that takes a while. We love him very much, though, and we are very hopeful for the future.”
The Duggars starred on TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting.” The show was canceled after Josh Duggar’s scandal became public. Since the show’s cancellation, the network has aired specials featuring the women of the family.
