Olivia Munn Responds to Plastic Surgery Rumors: ‘It’s Unfair’

Olivia Munn is responding to rumors she’s had plastic surgery, calling the assumption an unfair double standard.

“That’s where it’s unfair: the judgment that is put on women for how we look,” Munn told Fashion magazine for its May 2016 issue, which hits newsstands April 11.

“If you’re looking bad, you have to cover up. If you’re looking good, you’ve done something or made a deal with the devil,” she explained.

The X-Men star also talked about the role mom had in developing her independent personality. “My mother never coddled me. She never really helped me,” the actress admitted.

“What I did learn from her was how to have a strong sense of self. She gave me the tools to figure out how to solve problems and fight my own battles.”

Munn hopes to pass those lessons on to young women as a representative for the “It’s On Us” campaign, an awareness initiative to help put an end to sexual assault on college campuses.

“Younger women don’t have their voice yet, they haven’t figured out their strength. It’s really important that women see others in the public eye who don’t back down when someone pushes them,” she said of her work with the program.
