Leave it to Rihanna to make a statement on the red carpet.
Who could forget the infamous, sheer Swarovski-encrusted CFDA gown created by Adam Selman she wore to accept her Fashion Icon Award in 2014, the pink-cupcake Giambattista Valli gown she wore to the 2015 Grammy Awards, or the Stella McCartney tuxedo blazer she wore as a dress to the 2014 British Fashion Awards? On Friday night, the “Work” singer graced the red carpet at the Black Girls Rock event wearing a pair of white shorts and a plaided blouse, paired with a nearly floor-length fur coat.

The 28-year-old kept it semi-casual by pinning pieces of her hair back with gold, floral barrettes. The “Diamonds” singer was definitely glowing from head-to-toe with her collection of gold accessories, including a choker and her stack of rings.
The Black Girls Rock event, hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross, honored the achievements of extraordinary women of color. Rihanna was graciously recognized with the Rock Star Award.
Also in attendance for the event, expectant mother Tatyana Ali, Kelly Rowland, Andra Day, Hilary Clinton, and more.
