Trisha Yearwood Plays a Surprising Round of Word Association (Slow Jams? She Loves Prince!)

Juggling music, touring, acting, cooking and time with family means that Trisha Yearwood plays a lot of different roles.

And she’s about to tackle, perhaps, her most intimidating role yet: Playing Mary, Jesus’ mother, in The Passion, a live two-hour musical that will air on Fox on March 20.

PEOPLE caught up with the fearless singer for a revealing round of word association – and Garth even got in on the fun! What she had to say might surprise you:

Guilty pleasure: A good book and a cup of coffee. It’s a guilty pleasure because I always feel guilty when I take time for myself.

Kitchen: The heart of my home. It’s where everything happens.

Slow jam: Anything Prince – I’m a huge Prince fan.

Marriage: My greatest joy. The greatest joy in my life. He’s walking through the house right now … [To Garth] It’s word association, and the word was marriage. [Garth replies] I love you very much!

Vacation: Being home. We travel for a living, so the perfect vacation for us is to be home for a few days.

Laughter: My sister. My sister Beth is my best friend and I would describe our relationship as a lot of laughter.

Music: What feeds my soul. I get asked a lot about [music and] food and choosing if I had to pick one. I always say that I love to cook, but music’s what feeds my soul.
