U.S.A. Women Win the 1,000th Summer Olympics Gold Medal in Relay Race

The last night of Olympic swimming in the 2016 Rio Olympics was good for the U.S. Swim Team.

Kathleen Baker, Lilly King, Dana Vollmer and Simone Manuel won the Women’s 4×100-meter medley relay on Saturday night, finishing nearly 2 seconds ahead of the pack.

After their win, the four women hugged each other and screamed.

The Australian Team won the silver medal, while the Denmark team took the bronze.

All four women have won multiple medals in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Manuel, the first African American to medal in swimming, won 4 medals – 2 gold and 2 silver. Vollmer won 3 medals this year – a gold, a silver and a bronze.

King won two gold medals, while Baker won a gold and a silver.

During the National Anthem, the women held hands and smiled happily.
