“They used to turn it off and just let the others sing,” the singer-turned-fashion designer told The Telegraphwhen she attended the Vogue 100: A Century of Style exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London on Thursday.
“I got the last laugh – and now my mic is well and truly on, finally,” Beckham, 42, jokingly added.
The mother of four also revealed that her passion was always in fashion, she did make the little Gucci dress famous after all. Remember in Spice World when Mel C tells Posh Spice: “I bet it must be really hard for you Victoria, you know, trying to decide whether to wear the little Gucci dress, the little Gucci dress or the little Gucci dress.”
Well Beckham had this to say about the Spice Girls fashions back in the ’90s heyday. “I was always the one that loved fashion and it was quite a result for me because the girls always used to get their clothes for free because they were crap and so there was a lot of budget for me to have my little Gucci dress,” she shared.
While Beckham’s mic was intentionally turned off, she found a way to stand out in a quiet way. “Luckily because I used to wear heels, I just used to jig about a bit and I got away with it but it never came easily. I was always much more reserved than the other girls,” she said.
